The week before last was plain shitty. Family members in the hospital, a health scare of my own, and problems at work didn’t help things either. Things took an unexpected turn for the better last Sunday, though. I’m not sure what’s going on exactly, but it’s good.
Ok – here’s an example. Not the best, or one to be terribly proud of, but a good example anyway. I typically can’t metabolize alcohol. It’s bad – 1/2 bottle of beer and I’m a total mess. Things were different on Sunday. I was in a bit of a mood and had a strong rum and coke before the Streetlight show. This should have pretty much put me down, but it didn’t. I went on to have a beer or two at the show, and drank even more at a bowling alley afterwards. I didn’t have a single problem, with the exception of being able to bowl without bumpers:
I fell asleep around 1:30am and was awake at my normal time, 4:45am, Monday morning. No hangover or anything. My body metabolized the alcohol and I didn’t suffer a single side effect. In fact, I woke up with a ton of energy and had a great day at work. I mean, stranger things have happened but I just didn’t expect this to happen. I pushed my luck all week, eating foods that I know I can get away with, but wouldn’t feel too great after eating, and didn’t really experience any problems.
Going against my typically prudent ways, I’ve decided to take advantage of this sudden (and hopefully permanant) change. I’m going to treat May as a self-improvement month. I’m going to dedicate more time to exersize, be more consious of what I eat (meaning eating healthier options that would otherwise cause problems), and do other things to help continue this positive trend. Oh, and for anyone wondering what I mean by problems/complications, I’m talking internal bleeding and other lovely issues.
Can’t finish this post without showing a vid of my friend Mark trying to 1-up me at the bowling alley:
Ok, that’s about it. In the words of Dave Chappelle, “I’m out this bitch!”
