It’s been a while since I last wrote about what was going on with the marshmallows, and there’s quite a bit that has happened lately. I delivered several cases of marshmallows to the Hampton Market Place and things went really well! The marshmallows sold, and they now want weekly shipments! There has been some talk outside of the market place as well, including possibly providing marshmallow in bulk to caterers and a call from Whole Foods. Yes, THE Whole Foods.
Since things are going so well, my buddy Mark is giving me a hand in registering the business and taking care of all legal surrounding the brand name of the marshmallows. Something tells me that all of the entrepreneurial knowledge I absorbed during my years working at NFTE is about to come in handy!
I’m also providing 2 flavors of marshmallow for my friend Patrick’s Mother’s wedding reception. He asked for vanilla bean and wild strawberry marshmallows. They are needed for June 6th, so I’ll take care of them this Tuesday night. Anything for Patrick. Oh, and say hello to your mother for me.
Aside from this, I’m coming up with a couple of new recipes per week and getting ideas together for the Mellow Brand website. I’m also hoping to get some time to work on a recipe using brown rice sugar and agar agar soon. I really like the idea of a marshmallow that contains no animal products AND provides you with a healthier source of energy than a regular marshmallow, which replacing corn syrup with brown rice syrup would certainly do.
I’m also looking in to commercial kitchen rentals with the assumption that I’m going to be making a lot more marshmallows in the near future.
Anyway, stay tuned… I’m sure there will be more news soon!
