UK Reggae artist David Victor Emmanuel, better known as Smiley Culture, died of a stab wound today following a police raid on his home. Police arrived at his house with a warrant prepared to make an arrest when the injuries occurred. One would have to assume that it is connected to the charges of conspiracy to supply cocaine in September 2010. While it is unclear how Emmanuel’s injury took place, it’s hard to believe that it was self-inflicted.

Zima and Jolly Ranchers, Megan Fox and alcohol, peanut butter and chocolate… you see what I mean, right? Two of my favorite artists came together to create one of my favorite albums of 2010. Tomas Kalnoky of Streetlight Manifesto and Dan Potthast of Mu330 cover 5 of each other’s songs on You By Me: Volume One.
